About me
I’m Paul Broesmith, a Derby-based theatre-maker, arts facilitator, and creative collaborator. My work sits where story meets people: research-led, holistically-informed, and built through collaboration, play, and practical care.
My process begins with a specific question, which leads to testing ideas through hands-on research and development. From there, I co-create with the project's intended community to shape work that helps people feel seen, heard, and proud of their own stories. The final outcome may take the form of a performance, event, or exhibition, but the objective is always to foster connection, confidence, and shared meaning. I am particularly focused on amplifying the voices of unsung heroes.
My background spans acting, directing, coaching, voice, media, leadership, and event management, alongside therapeutic and behavioural approaches including HICAT. That mix lets me support both the creative process and the people inside it.
I’m also a martial artist, and I bring physicality into my practice, from stage and screen combat to embodied storytelling. My work has been seen on stage and on screen.
I’m a member of Equity, the Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

I'm also the Artistic Director and co-founder of The Lost Boys, a theatre company built on one obsession: every great story has a greater story behind it. We dig into the origins, the context, the "how did this even happen?" and then we put all of it on stage, on screen, in your ears, or in your hands. We don't just adapt stories, we reimagine them across art forms. A single narrative might begin as a live performance, evolve into an immersive experience, and land as a published book or exhibition. We hop mediums because stories deserve more than one way in, and audiences deserve more than sitting in the dark being told what to think. Everything we make is built around the audience: participatory, provocative, and designed to meet people where they are. Whether that's a traditional theatre, a community hall, a pair of headphones, or a gallery wall, The Lost Boys brings the story to you.
