HICAT THERAPIES
WHAT IS HICAT?
HICAT (Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy) is a therapeutic approach that uses creative processes to improve and enhance physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It recognises that we are whole, interconnected beings and that creativity is a powerful route to understanding and healing.
Unlike purely verbal therapies, HICAT allows you to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences through making, moving, and creating. It's particularly helpful when words feel insufficient or when you need a different way in.
Sessions are adaptive, gentle, and led by you. There's no artistic skill required: the process matters, not the product.
Consideration of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit working together as an interconnected system.
An amalgamation of creative techniques, often combining two or more modalities within a single session.
Using arts-based processes as the vehicle for exploration, expression, and transformation.
Grounded in therapeutic principles, focused on your wellbeing, growth, and supported self-discovery
HICAT supports people navigating a wide range of experiences. It meets you where you are.
For those carrying the weight of demanding roles, responsibilities, or environments and needing a space to decompress and reconnect.
Navigating change: career shifts, relationship changes, bereavement, retirement, or identity questions.
A gentle, embodied alternative or complement to talking therapies for managing anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm.
For anyone wanting to understand themselves better, build confidence, develop self-expression, or simply explore creativity as a wellbeing practice.
Creative approaches can access what verbal processing sometimes cannot. A safe, boundaried space for working through difficult experiences.
Wellbeing workshops for workplaces: reducing stress, building resilience, improving communication, and supporting team cohesion.
